Photos With Captions To Make Smile & Think

It feels weird, for me, to be cranking out a blog when the sun has migrated so far west. I usually do most of my writing when the first rays penetrate the large East window and tap me gently on the shoulder. But this morning I slept in and there was church to attend.

This week has been a mixed bag of good and not-so.

Good: I finished the AutoCAD course I’ve been working on since last October; I spent a day kayaking around a beautiful and remote lake with plenty of islands and wildlife. Sorry, I didn’t get any photos because I was too busy soaking in the moments.

Not-so: I managed to splash a copious amount of hot bacon grease on the tops of both my feet. I was wearing socks, not sure if that helped or made things worse. I immediately ripped off the socks and raced to the bathtub, while rattling the windows with vociferously exclaimed expletives. The cold water helped, and I swear my feet turned it to steam. A second of clumsiness cost me second degree burns on the tops of both feet.

Ah, but life goes on and they’ll heal. I prefer to dwell on the positives these days.
